Library playsets hiring guide

Material available for loan can be found listed on the spreadsheet Library Playsets.

Group Registration

Groups should designate a representative who will be responsible for all material borrowed by the group. A ticket will be issued to this representative who will be designated the sole user of the ticket, and who must accept full liability for all material borrowed. The ticket is not transferable to any other group member.

Before a ticket is issued proof of identity and contact details are required (along with official docuemntation if it exists).

If a group wishes to change its representative the new ticket holder must produce:

  • The existing group ticket
  • A letter of authorisation from the group
  • Proof of current address and contact details

The new representative will then become liable for any items still on loan to the group.

Changes of representative, and lost or stolen tickets, must be reported to the library immediately.

Loan periods and charges

Playsets are loaned for a month at a time, and the period of loan should be determined at the time of booking/collection. Playset material may not be renewed if it is subsequently requested by another group.

A charge of £5 for each monthly loan period is payable before any set is issued. Further charges will be imposed for the late return of items. Long overdue items will be deemed lost and you may be liable for the replacement costof each item at its full retail price, plus admin costs.

Bookings
Please request material in adequate time giving bibliographic details, noting whether a particular edition or text is required. Please specify the number of copies required. A set is anything up to 15 copies (though this is negotiable). Where 25 or 30 copies etc. are required these should be treated as two sets. Please also give the Group Ticket number and indicate how long the booking is for.

NB: On occasion material may not be available for loan if it is required for performance or study by students of Rose Bruford College.

Uses of material
Items should be returned in the same condition in which they were borrowed. Any markings should be in pencil only and should be removed before return.

In the interests of other library users sets should be returned within the agreed loan period.

Playsets on loan from Rose Bruford College are not necessarily released for amateur performance. You are advised to apply to the publisher before committing yourself to a production.

Users are expected to abide by current copyright laws and are reminded that all unauthorised copies are illegal.
